The Revista Electrónica de Divulgación de STEM of the Universidad Nacional de la Patagonia San Juan Bosco (UNPSJB) is a scientific, open-access electronic journal based at the UNPSJB. It is free of charge and published twice a year, with two issues per year (January–June and July–December). Its main objective is to disseminate research, advances, and innovations in the academic disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), all subject to scientific style review and a double-blind peer-review process by experts in the relevant field.

The journal was created to address the absence of a venue dedicated to disseminating STEM research. Through it, the journal promotes scientific research, technical knowledge, and the transfer and dissemination of applied technologies as multidisciplinary activities.

The journal aims to make visible the academic work of its researchers, contributing to their professional development, and to become a national and international reference for the knowledge produced at the UNPSJB and across the Spanish-speaking academic community.

The term STEM was first coined by the National Science Foundation (NSF) in the United States in the mid-1990s, in response to the growing need to prepare students for a future shaped by constant technological change and for emerging occupations tied to technological advances. It reflected a demand for greater focus on the skills and practice needed to learn and build the physical, biological, computational, and mathematical models that underpin such training.

Expected impact

To share and exchange knowledge, experiences, and studies on the promotion and development of STEM education, to democratize knowledge across the Spanish-speaking community, and to examine the strengths, limitations, and features of instructional materials and the possibilities of virtual support strategies.
