Resumen

The prim ordial objetive of the present study is to contribute to the utilization of appropriate and
renewable technologies, in order to avoid, to a certain extent, the contam ination of the environment
caused by the pollution from contaminating power s, am on other, thereby contributing to the
development of the World Program of Global Climatic Changes. Lack of information about existing
wind resources often m akes it impossible to develop projects based on wind power generation. For
that purpose we have develope d a m ethodology which determ ines the yearly average wind speed
through the utilization of biological indicators. Said m ethodology has been applied for the
assessment of the wind resources in the province, in order to determ ine later on the possible
utilization of these resources for power generation
